Aim

CY Cergy Paris University and the Hôpital du Nord-Ouest Val d’Oise (NOVO), two institutions based in the same area, are joining forces to develop health research and to improve local residents’ access to healthcare and higher education. To do so, they are creating a research federation, the Institute for Health Research in the Territories (IRST), which builds on their past and ongoing work. The aim is to break down silos between areas of knowledge and to encourage dialogue between disciplines in response to emerging health issues. The institute’s scientific strategy is based on “translational” research, which links basic research (understanding the mechanisms behind health problems) with clinical research (validating concepts and testing their effectiveness for the benefit of patients), through close collaboration between researchers and clinicians.

Programmes

The AMBITION PROGRAMME aims to incubate the development of innovative research projects. Its generous funding (up to €200k) for a period of 4 years, allows researchers teams to finance the recruitment of Doctorate or post-doctorate dedicated to the project.
